Jaipur also known as ‘Pink City’ of India due to its abundance of brightly colored buildings, Jaipur is a busy commercial and tourist destination and was the first city in India to be blessed with an organised structure of streets and roads set out in a grid system. City Palace

Built in 1729-1732 AD, the City Palace in Jaipur was where the Maharaja of Jaipur reigned from.This palace also includes the Chandra Mahal and Mubarak Mahal palaces and other buildings in its complex.The history of the city palace is closely linked with the history of Jaipur city and its rulers, starting with Maharaja Sawai Jai Singh II who ruled from 1699-1744. He is credited with initiating construction of the city complex by building the outer wall of the complex spreading over many acres.




Hawa Mahal

Jaipur is famour for its palaces and fort and one of the most recongised one is Hawa Mahal.
Built in 1747 by Sawai Pratap Singh , It has latticed windows that allowed royal ladies to have view of the market place. From the top one can have a view of Jantar Mantar and the City Palace on one side and the Siredeori bazaar on the other side.




Nahargarh Fort

Forming an impressive backdrop of Jaipur is the Nahargarh fort. It was built by Jai Singh for the protection of Amer in 1734 and extended in 1868.The fort is located on the Aravali Hills. Legend has it that it was named Nahargarh after Nahar Singh, a prince whose spirit would destroy the construction and stall its progress. So after a tantrik invoked the spirit, it agreed to withdraw on condition that the fort would be named after him.




Amer Fort

This fort is located about 11 kms from Jaipur. This fort gives the glimpse of Hindu and Mughal architecture both.The construction of the fort was commenced in 1592 by Raja Man Singh I over the remnants of an earlier fortified structure. The fort was built with red sandstone. It was modified by successive rulers for 150 next years.




Jal Mahal

Jal Mahal was created in the 16th Century by constructing a dam to conserve water.As this palace is right in the middle of Man sagar lake , it is called as Jal Mahal (Water Palace). This palace is built on the similar lines as of one built in Udaipur, the Lake Palace.




Jaigarh Fort

The Jaigarh Fort is the most imposing and spectacular fort that overlooks Jaipur. It is famous for the Jaivana canon, considered the largest canon in the world. The fort was built by Sawai Jai Singh II in 1726 to protect the Amer fort. The fort named after its builder, is also known as the fort of victory because it has never been conquered.

WEATHER

Jaipur has a semiarid climate under the Köppen climate classification, receiving over 650 millimetres (26 in) of rainfall annually but most rains occur in the monsoon months between June and September. Temperatures remain relatively high throughout the year, with the summer months of April to early July having average daily temperatures of around 30 °C (86 °F). During the monsoon there are frequent, heavy rains and thunderstorms, but flooding is not common. The winter months of November to February are mild and pleasant, with average temperatures ranging from 15–18 °C (59–64 °F) and with little or no humidity though occasional cold waves lead to temperatures near freezing.

Summer Season In Jaipur

The summer season in the city of Jaipur begins by mid of March and continues till June. Summers are hot with maximum temperature reaching up to 45 ºC, and minimum temperature is around 25 ºC during this season.



Monsoon Season In Jaipur

Monsoon season begins in July and continues till September. Monsoons bring rain, but do not give much relief from the scorching heat.





Winter Season In Jaipur

Winter season begins in the month of October and continues till March. Maximum temperature can be 22 ºC, while minimum temperature can go as low as 5 ºC.
